A note on produce
Aside from greenmarket sorts our local fruits and vegetables spoil very fast. Two carrots in the fridge, bought on Tuesday, were limp (an odd look for carrots) by Thursday. The Halloween pumpkins down the block are similarly not immune, all soft, drooping and gray with mold, wrecked with decay and perfectly spooky.
